Statement on the Passing of Congressman Donald Payne, Jr.

On behalf of the Board of Directors of the New Jersey State Society, I am deeply saddened by the passing of Representative Donald Payne, Jr. Rep. Payne was not only a kind and effective legislator, but also a true friend and supporter of the New Jersey State Society.

Like his late father, he was a soft-spoken man, yet his actions in Congress spoke volumes about his commitment to justice, equality, and the betterment of New Jersey. His legacy includes significant contributions to healthcare, infrastructure, and community safety, reflecting his deep passion for serving the people of our state. Rep. Payne's presence will be sorely missed, and our thoughts are with his family during this difficult time.
