NATIONAL BOOKFEST Stop by the New Jersey Table, #612, in the Pavilion of the States at the Washington Convention Center, Saturday, September 24, 9 am to 5 pm, and meet our 2016 Cherry Blossom Princess Regina Arellano and our New Jersey librarians. Regina will be there from 11 am to 2 pm. Bring the kids to have their maps of the states stamped and learn about the Garden State and recommended reading for children.

Details about the Book Festival in general are at National BookFest

OKTOBERFEST Join us for a festive Oktoberfest at the Beer Institute, Thursday, October 20, 5:30 to 7:30, 440 First Street NW, Washington, DC. Come prepared to drink great beer, eat, and mix and mingle with other New Jerseyans in true Oktoberfest fashion.

There is no charge to attend this event. Many thanks to the Beer Institute for hosting and sponsoring this event! We will be sending out an email to our members in October to solicit RSVPs, but in the meantime, be sure to save the date. And if you are not a member, or are behind on your dues, please click on the membership link above.

ANNUAL MEETING Our NJSS Annual Meeting for all members will be held Thursday, October 13, at 12 noon at PSEG headquarters, One Massachusetts Avenue, NW, Washington, DC.

Members will be able to call in or attend in person and sandwiches will be served.

To participate, you must be a member in good standing of the New Jersey State Society. You can join now or renew dues on the Membership Link. An email to members soliciting RSVPs and providing a call-in number will go out 2-3 weeks in advance of the meeting.

HOLIDAY PARTY Although November and December will find us deep in the logistics of our Garden State Inaugural Gala (January 19, 2017), we will still take time out to hold a Holiday Party and bring together the Jersey-Crowd-in-DC for a celebration of the season. Note that we may opt to hold the event the last week of November this year.
