New Jersey at the National Book Festival
Join the NJ State Society and the NJ Center for the Book at the National Book Festival tomorrow, Saturday, September 30. Look for us at the New Jersey table at the Pavilion of the States at the new festival location, the Walter E. Washington Convention Center. We will be there between 12 noon and 1 pm taking pictures with Mary Chute, the NJ State Librarian, and our 2013 Cherry Blossom Princess, Hannah Rimar.
This year’s New Jersey theme is “Birding: Backyard Wonders” and the display will include birdhouses and the varieties of birds that build them. Children can get their maps stamped and everyone can enjoy authentic boardwalk taffy from James’ Candy of Atlantic City.
The Convention Center is at 801 Mt. Vernon Place, NW, Washington, DC. Take the Yellow/Green Line to Mt. Vernon Square. More details are at www.njss.org and on the national festival’s website www.loc.gov/bookfest
